webs at: If you find an error such as a broken link, an obvious "typo", or some other such
problem, please let us know by email. If an error exists, it means we have not yet noticed it.
If you know of a perceived need on the Christian Web, tell us about it. Perhaps we can
fill that need as we GROW A LARGE SITE HERE OVER THE NEXT FEW YEARS. At this writing it is
September 6, 1999 and we have set a goal to have over 2000 "titles" or "items" up and running
on our "webs" before September of 2000, God willing and the "creek don't rise!" Pray we can
surpass that goal as we have the one we set in 1998.
We do all of our HTML coding by "hand" at present, using Notepad or other simple
"editors" rather than using the "automatic conversion from word processing files" systems,
which we find add a tremendous amount of not needed code and tend to slow down the pages.
So our "Web" site takes a lot of time and effort to construct and maintain. When I am at
home, (as opposed to being out on a speaking trip among the Churches), I am often at the
computer at 2, 3 or even 4 am, adding, modifying, or improving our site. We need your prayers
and support for this work, as well as for our writing and our Preaching and Teaching efforts.
I (Jim) am 70 years "young" as of Sept. 12, 1999, and spent a large part of my earlier life in
the African bush serving our Churches as a Church Planting and Pastor Training Missionary with
my darling wife, Georgia. Of course, in the early day of that time, our children were out
there with us as well. When we felt called of God to leave the bush and begin this new ministry
for independent Baptists, about 5 years ago we had NO experience with any computer except an
old Texas Instruments Professional, dos operating system, at about 5 mhz chip speed, and a then
"huge" hard drive capacity of 80 megabytes. (It still runs like a charm today, but you can't get
any of the new programs to run on it, of course.)
So the "learning curve" for me on the new Pentium/Windows machines when we came to begin
this "Web Ministry" was not a curve at all -- It was just straight up like a rocket, of course!
We are still learning, as anyone must who does much with computers these days. We purposely try
to keep most of our Web Page Designs simple so that they will download quickly even for people
who do not have the latest and fastest connections or technology. Please tell your friends about
our web resources, and write us an email and tell us so if you enjoy something on one of our
pages.
We will be adding LOTS more good material from time to time during 1999 and 2000,
including many more sermons from our Pastor Ron thomas, sermons from other close friends of
the Webmaster, and many "Sermons From Africa" by James Dearmore.
We are constantly adding more "Church Humor and Bulletin Bloopers," "computer Humor,", "General
Humor and MORE Outside Links, Puritan and Oldtimers Reprints, etc. We also are gradually
building and adding to a "Modern Martyrdom" section in which we publish short stories about
modern Christian Martyrs who have been persecuted or killed just because they are Christians
and tried to do "the right thing."
If you have some free Church Humor or Bulletin Bloopers which as far as you know and
believe are not copyrighted, please send them for possible use in our "Humor" sections.
We are NOT, of course, interested in any jokes with sexual innuendoes, or any "jokes"
